Big Night Out
It all started last year
when I decided to enrol in a makeup artistry course and thought I'd better
do some research before choosing an academy. My husband helped me
and in the end it wasn't a hard decision. After we'd discussed the
options, I chose the Samala Robinson Academy.
There have been
many highlights during my course but the biggest so far has been getting
to work on TV3's Telethon - "The Big Night In".
I was backstage
on both days of the Telethon and got to meet stars and celebrities like
John Campbell, Alan Dale, Martin Henderson and Tina Cross. There
were also people I didn't expect to see with makeup on like PNC, David
Dallas and Scribe.
I think that apart from the tutors with
their knowledge and experience, one of the best parts of
training with SRA has been the work experience opportunities.
They can be a bit challenging, especially something like "The Big Night
In", but it's just what you need to get your confidence up, and
that's really important for a young makeup
artist.
