Fashion
Week 2008 demands dramatic
look
Coco Pr invited SRA
to create the makeup look for two Fashion Week shows. They were the Coco Ready-to-Wear and
the Coco Streetwear shows. These shows included designers such as Sheryl May (who
has exhibited in London Fashion Week for the past 5
years), Ooby Ryn – part of the Fashion Week 2006 Verge Breakthrough Show
and Streetwear designers such as Doosh, Fourfontaine, Crowded Elevator and Moneyshot. A special
thanks to Angelique at Fresh PR who made everything so
easy!
The team, put together by Samala,
worked brilliantly. Heather Vette, a full time trainer and head of
the SRA Design Team, designed both looks in conjunction with the various
fashion designers. Graduate students were selected and involved in
applying the looks and current students were on hand for manicures and
last minute running around.
The looks for both days were
dramatic and stunning. Ooby Ryn was first up and the makeup could
best be described as Subtle Romantic Glamour with strong beautiful shading
around the eyes and a beautiful plum lip. A very quick change back
stage to a more Modern Romantic look with a stained lip and gold glitter
on the cheek bone making a statement for Sheryl’s show. The Streetwear
show was again a dramatic eye shade, this time in contrasting black and
crème shades with the soft lip shades continuing. There were also
featured models with a strong neon avant garde
look.
The feedback from designers and everyone else
involved was extremely positive. All those hours of work – over in
minutes, but some exciting and memorable creative result delivered the
impact required. Have a look
