When opportunity knocks, answer! It's not every day that you get to rub shoulders with the fashion elite, but that's precisely what happened to the talented makeup students at SRA when they received an exclusive invitation from the Walk the Line Group to assist them in NZ Fashion Week 2023. We grabbed this golden opportunity – obviously!! Founded in 2001, New Zealand Fashion Week is Aotearoa’s only international fashion event, and takes place in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. This is a platform for NZ fashion designers to showcase their talent and have the limelight shine on them. Our team was ecstatic to be a part of this!
An Early Start to a Glamorous Day
The day started long before the sun made its appearance. At the crack of dawn - at precisely 5:30 AM - the SRA Makeup students were already in motion. With brushes, palettes, and a whole lot of enthusiasm in tow, they were ready to transform models into walking works of art.
Artistry Unleashed
The fashion industry is all about precision and perfection, and our students embraced the challenge with open arms. It was a pleasure to see our artists work their magic and enhance the models’ looks. The transformation was nothing short of breathtaking!

The energy backstage was electric, matching the pulse of the fashion extravaganza unfolding before their eyes. It was a sensory overload of colors, textures, and the thrill of all the glam. Participating in NZ Fashion Week 2023 was an experience our SRA Makeup students will cherish forever. It was a day of creativity, teamwork, and learning on a grand scale.
From the early morning start to the moment they witnessed the models strutting their stuff, it was a day filled with excitement, artistry, and unforgettable memories. This experience will undoubtedly shape our students’ careers and inspire them to reach greater heights in the world of makeup artistry.
